The Forums will address major corporate governance and remuneration issues including:
Melbourne:
- Aligning equity pay with shareholders’ interests, noting the government’s proposed new taxation amendments to permit more flexibility
- Broader conceptions of boardroom diversity for the oversight of strategy and risk management
Perth:
- Will address similar issues, but focus on recent mining/energy sector investor and board expectations and requirements
Both Forums will also cover:
- Regulatory/legislative updates
- An overview of CGI Glass Lewis’ voting recommendations and rationale, as well as proxy voting outcomes/trends across calendar year 2014
The Forums will build on the goodwill, progress and outcomes achieved in previous Forums and provide for a frank and practical exchange of views between board directors, company executives, regulators and institutional investors. As usual, sessions will include a panel discussion and Q&A, and Chatham House Rules will apply to facilitate frank and open debate.
