The main responsibilities of a SENIOR ESG DATA ANALYST include:
We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented analyst to join our dynamic research team in Manila. The successful candidate analyze company filings, websites, and reports in order to collect ESG data points used in Glass Lewis research reports and client voting. Senior data analysts will also assist in managing our temporary research staff during proxy season and/or senior data associates. They will also act as a liaison to the U.S.-based Sr. ESG Data Analysts and the Sr. Director of ESG Research and will deliver feedback and training to the Manila-based staff.
The role is a full-time, hybrid position that requires some regular office attendance. This position is based in our Makati City office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Glass Lewis’ ESG data collection by overseeing the collection of ESG-related data points for use in research reports and voting policies, including custom voting policies.
- Manage temporary and/or a limited number of permanent data analysts in collecting ESG data for research reports
- Provide feedback, constructive criticism, and ongoing training to data analysts and data associates.
- In collaboration with the Sr. Director of ESG Research, review, assess and enhance existing and newly requested ESG-related data points.
- Stay up to date on important and emerging ESG issues to inform data collection.
- Lead data collection projects requested by the ESG research and data requests teams.
- Develop and improve ESG data team specialization and collection processes.
- Consult with the Sr Director of ESG Research, SVP of Research Technology and Data, Data Team, Development and IT teams on data collection technology and tools for global staff.
- Perform other related duties and tasks as necessary or as assigned.
To apply, you must be an expert on the following requirements:
- BA/BS degree.
- 3 or more years of experience in an active corporate governance/ESG research role.
- A well-organized, systematic approach to work and ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Broad knowledge of U.S. corporate governance principles and emerging industry data trends.
- Strong time-management, problem solving and people skills.
- Demonstrated success in managing people or processes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including senior-level business writing and presentation skills (oral and written).
- High level of proficiency with online applications and business software (MS Office).
It will also be favorable if you are knowledgeable in:
- Data accuracy and completeness rates.
- Timeliness of data collection and reporting.
- Number of process improvements and automation initiatives implemented.
- Collaboration and support effectiveness with Research Associates.
