A Comprehensive Offering for ESG Climate Risk Mitigation
Investor signatories to Climate Action 100+ have high expectations of the world’s largest corporate greenhouse gas (GHG) emitters. The growing legal, regulatory, reputational, and physical risks associated with climate change require investors to assess these risks and mitigate them wherever possible. Given the rapidly evolving and dynamic nature of climate-related issues, factoring these risks into investment and proxy voting decisions can be complex and difficult. We have created a number of solutions to help investors stay informed and facilitate their decision-making processes.
Climate Action 100+ System Watch List
Use our Climate Action 100+ System Watch List in our Viewpoint proxy voting software to stay informed about the companies flagged by Climate Action 100+ as systemically-important GHG emitters. You can search, track, and report on companies that are responsible for 80% of global emissions.
Shareholder Proposal Alert
This custom alert in Viewpoint notifies you when a shareholder proposal is submitted at a focus list of companies that you select. Identify the companies that you are specifically monitoring and you will receive an email along with an in-product alert the moment Glass Lewis identifies that there is a shareholder proposal at the meeting, and/or an alert as soon as the Proxy Paper is published for that meeting. For example, leverage the filtering and alerting functionality in Viewpoint to monitor companies in the Climate Action 100+ that have a shareholder proposal on the agenda at their shareholder meeting. You can also use this feature to flag companies with poor pay practices or those with insufficient board gender diversity.

Thematic Voting Policy – Climate
Our Climate Policy provides a solution for institutional investors who seek to incorporate the risks and impacts of climate-related issues. The policy, which is aligned with the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) framework, assesses how companies are overseeing and managing climate risk. Customers are also able to work with our team of policy analysts to customize the policy to their specific environmental, social, and governance requirements. Learn more by visiting our product page.
The policy considers the size of the company and its industry, applying different, more rigorous standards for companies with higher exposure to climate-related risks.
The policy is constructed around 3 tiers:
- Tier 1 consists of Climate Action 100+ companies.
- Tier 2 consists of companies in industries that the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) have identified as having a financially material risk due to GHG emissions.
- Tier 3 consists of companies that have lower exposure to emissions-related risks.
New ESG Climate Data Points for Policy Use
The data that underlies the Climate Policy can be used in customized voting policies. If you are interested in crafting your own policy, the data collected for the climate policy can be applied to fit your organization’s specific needs.
