SAN FRANCISCO (June 13, 2016) – Glass Lewis today announced the appointment of Carla Topino to its Research Advisory Council, which comprises experts on corporate governance, accounting, law, financial transparency and regulatory matters and guides the development of Glass Lewis’ proxy voting policies and guidelines.
Ms. Topino brings deep corporate governance experience to the Research Advisory Council, including 12 years as a research analyst and policy leader at Glass Lewis and several years as in-house corporate counsel. As Associate Vice President, European and Emerging Markets Policy at Glass Lewis, she was responsible, together with Glass Lewis’ chief policy officer, for the development of the firm’s voting guidelines for Europe and emerging markets while working closely with research analysts and engaging with investors, issuers, regulators and other interested parties. Prior to joining Glass Lewis in 2004, she worked as in-house counsel in the legal and corporate affairs departments of two Italian companies operating in the automotive and fashion industries. Ms. Topino has a law degree from the University of Turin, where she graduated summa cum laude after completing her thesis on takeover bids. In 2008, she was recognized as a Rising Star in corporate governance by the Yale School of Management’s Millstein Center.

Ms. Topino will join the Council effective July 1, 2016 following her last day as a full-time employee of Glass Lewis.
