SYDNEY (July 19, 2016) – CGI Glass Lewis, the Australian subsidiary of Glass Lewis, the leading independent provider of global governance services, today announced that Sustainalytics will now provide the E&S ratings and research underpinning CGI Glass Lewis’ E&S Advisory Paper.
The E&S Advisory Papers provide a concise and consistent review of the key E&S issues relating to ASX200 companies, including both quantitative and qualitative analysis. Beginning in July 2016 the content of the E&S Advisory Papers has been updated to feature ratings and insights from Sustainalytics, a global leader in sustainability research and analysis, which serves investors and financial institutions around the world.
“The Australian market has always taken a leadership role when it comes to prioritising the consideration of ESG factors and their impact relating to responsible, sustainable investing,” said Dan Smith, General Manager of CGI Glass Lewis. “The incorporation of Sustainalytics’ content is an exciting way to enhance the breadth and depth of our E&S Advisory Papers.”
E&S Advisory Papers are available on an annual subscription basis, covering several E&S categories and indicators while providing an assessment of the subject company’s relative strengths and weaknesses on critical issues.
“We are delighted to be working with CGI Glass Lewis to provide informed research and insights related to companies’ environmental and social risk profiles,” said Catalina Secreteanu, Head of Australia for Sustainalytics. “Our partnership creates a unique opportunity for our two firms to help facilitate meaningful E&S-related engagement between companies and their shareholders.”
Glass Lewis and Sustainalytics announced in February that they were teaming up to integrate ESG factors into the proxy voting and issuer engagement process. Glass Lewis intends to incorporate Sustainalytics’ ESG research and ratings into its standard and custom vote management services
