Position Description

We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Research Analyst, EMEA Research to join our dynamic research team in Manila. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of the research reports and making voting recommendations to institutional investors. The candidate will also be collaborating with colleagues based in our EMEA offices.  The role is a full-time, hybrid position that requires some regular office attendance. This position is based in our Makati City office.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct corporate governance research on publicly-listed companies in the EMEA markets to which you are assigned.
  • Comb through publicly disclosed information (e.g. stock exchange announcements including annual reports and notices of meeting, company press releases, news articles, etc.) to collect corporate governance-related data on each company to which you have been assigned.
  • Analyse each company’s governance practices within a policy-based framework of market best practices, with a governance and/or remuneration focus.
  • Draft recommendations to institutional investors on how they should vote at their portfolio companies’ shareholder meetings.
  • Successful candidates may be assigned to company coverage in multiple markets across EMEA and Latin America.
  • Where assigned to the “non-English” markets, the role will include the translation of documents for analysis.
  • Performing other related duties and tasks as necessary or as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in corporate governance research or related fields.
  • Demonstrated understanding of corporate governance issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including senior-level business writing and presentation skills (oral and written).
  • Strong analytical and data management skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Collaborative, team-player with a continuous improvement mind-set.
  • IT skills; proficiency in MS Office and online research tools.
  • Highly desirable but not essential language skills in the following: Italian, French, Portuguese, Spanish, German, Dutch, Nordic Languages.

This is a hybrid position with regular office attendance of approximately 2 days per week is expected.
