Glass Lewis has published its Q1 2022 engagement report for clients subscribing to our Active Ownership Engagement Solution.
The Engagement Solution was launched to support our clients’ stewardship efforts and regulatory reporting requirements. This solution builds on our existing extensive global engagement program that has been developed over the course of the past seven years.
Under the Engagement Solution, Glass Lewis engages on core ESG themes and reports on the content of engagement discussions across these key themes. In addition, we monitor progress in more detail on material company-specific ESG issues via a global “focus list” of 450 companies.
In Q1 2022 Glass Lewis engaged with 386 companies in 27 countries on 964 environmental, social, and governance issues and other material topics. We were guided in our efforts by the numerous conversations we had with our clients, where we identified four clear and consistent expectations:
- a global reach, with a local presence;
- an experienced multi-disciplinary governance team undertaking the engagement work;
- a focus on evolving material ESG themes; and,
- identifying measurable progress at companies.
In the quarterly engagement report, subscribers will find regional and topical breakdowns of our engagement data, including direction of travel and overall progress along Glass Lewis’ proprietary responsiveness KPI system. In addition, the report features company-specific case studies and thematic spotlights, providing granular insights on a range of ESG topics including board composition, climate risk reporting, and remuneration practices.
