SYDNEY – 1 September 2013

CGI Glass Lewis, the Australian subsidiary of the leading independent governance analysis and proxy voting firm Glass Lewis & Co., today announced the appointment of Aaron Bertinetti as General Manager (GM).

“Since joining the company in 2008, Aaron has overseen an exceptional and sustained expansion of the company’s operations across research, voting, client services and issuer engagement in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Asia,” said KT Rabin, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Glass Lewis. “CGI Glass Lewis has played an important role in the tremendous growth in our global client base and services. As a key contributor to our global executive team, Aaron’s new role will ensure we further leverage his expertise to the benefit of the company and our current and future clients in Australia and abroad.”

As GM, Aaron will be responsible for overseeing all CGI Glass Lewis operations and will work closely with Glass Lewis’ Chief Operating Officer, John Wieck, and Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Jeff Thompson, on strategic, product and business development opportunities in the Australian and overseas markets.

Bertinetti was previously Director of Research and Communications at CGI Glass Lewis, and alongside Bridget Murphy, Director of Research Operations, was responsible in overseeing the permanent Sydney-based research team of eight analysts; engaging with the boards of more than 200 ASX-listed companies on a yearly basis and regularly presenting as a speaker and panellist on governance and remuneration issues.

Bertinetti has vast experience covering listed companies in Australia, US, UK, South Africa and New Zealand; brings a background in investments, technology, journalism and management; and has a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney. He is also an active angel investor and director of private American and Australian startups, including serving as a non-executive chairman.

“It’s been my great privilege to have had the opportunity to help build CGI into the company it is today. It would not have been possible without the exceptional support of our parent Glass Lewis and my early governance mentors, Sandy Easterbrook and Pru Bennett. I’m very excited about our company’s future, the deep and diverse local team we’ve built and the new technology and services we’re developing for clients that will further empower them as shareholders in Australia and abroad,” said Bertinetti.
